The Founder

Raja Hussain Khan Maqpoon (Late) was the Founder Publisher / Chief Editor of Daily K2 and Managing Director KPN Group of Newspapers. He hailed from Skardu (Gilgit-Baltistan) and was considered among the most distinguished young journalists of the region. He brought out “K2” as a weekly newspaper in 1996 when he was just 20. In 2006, Raja Hussain Khan Maqpoon (Late) established “Karakorum Publishing Network” (KPN) and “K2” appeared as “The very first Daily newspaper” of Gilgit-Baltistan.Keeping to its matchless trend of “Very First” , KPN, under the supervision of Raja Hussain Khan Maqpoon, setup the first-ever 4 Colour Printing Press at Gilgit-Baltistan and first-ever private FM radio station FM-99; Gilgit-Baltistan in November 2010.  On February 26, 2012, Raja Hussain Khan Maqpoon passed away in a fatal road accident, leaving behind his glowing history of successful achievements and noble missions to be accomplished by his successors.
